Volunteer
When seniors can remain independent in their homes, they can stay in touch with their community and loved-ones.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering is a great way to connect with your community and meet others, share your skills and knowledge, keep up your employable skills while job searching, build resiliency and more. Opportunities include:
- Friendly visiting
- Walking and outings
- Gardening
- Reading and writing assistance
- Computer support
- Organizing assistance
- Minor home repairs
- Dog walking
- Medical and errand drives
- Grocery shopping
Becoming A Volunteer
If a volunteer opportunity is offered to you, references and a Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check will be required.
All drivers who volunteer must have a class 5 license, a clear Driver’s Abstract and $2-million dollars in third party liability insurance.
Once all administration is complete, new volunteers are provided with an orientation prior to starting their volunteer work.
